A: No, hose easily connects to tank. Had mine 3+ years no problems or leaks.
A: Nope that's the fitting that comes with it.
A: I do believe this is the picture from the Home Depot site....certainly appear to be a tank regulator. Incidently 20 pounder contains 20 pounds of liquid propane and actually will weigh around 38 pounds full. the regulator for a 20,40,60,even 100 are the same.
A: No. Use interior thread of standard 20lb tank on valve body
A: No, it comes set up to run on a 20# tank.
A: No! This needs to be in a ventilated area, plus you don't want a forced air open flame in a home.
A: Would NOT use this inside. The amount of exhaust fumes would make this dangerous for an enclosed area. Make sure there is enough ventilation and space to prevent overheating any flammable items.
A: I do not recommend using this indoors without proper ventilation. This uses an open flame and the metal tubing gets VERY VERY hot, so it can cause a fire hazard. More importantly, you run the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning.
A: Yes requires power.
A: you need to plug it into a regular wall outlet for the electrical ignition and for the fan to operate.
A: yes, it requires AC
A: Yes it does. !20 VAC for the fan and the spark starter, then propane to burn.
A: Yes - it needs a Propane tank to connect the propane line to and 120 VAC to plug into the cord that comes out of it. The 120 VAC runs the fan.
A: It does make some noise, but not as much as I thought it would. We had it running near 6 of us sitting around in a circle and we could still talk without having to yell. Sort of like the sound of a gas furnace when it kicks on.
A: The blower is a bit noisy, but, not to the point of needing hearing protection
A: It sounds like a small jet engine. If you use it to heat a garage, for example, you will have to raise your voice to be heard over the fan.
A: It does make some noise, but in a closed 2 car garage with it running you can still hold a normal conversation. Haven't used a dB meter to measure the sound level. It does have an open flame so not to be used in a flammable environment IMHO.
A: It isn't quiet, but after the first few minutes, the sound becomes part of the background. It's definitely not overly loud, not annoying.
A: I would say moderate when compared to some older ones. The fan is constant speed, loud enough to interfere with conversations if you are standing next to it. And the flame makes a bit of noise, a bit more than my old kerosene unit. Probably due to the fact that the kerosene unit had a baffle between the flame holder an the exhaust.
A: Propane flame burns at 2500 degrees. :-) In terms of how warm it will make your room, it depends on how much space you're trying to heat, and the outside air temp. I use it in the winter to heat a 3 car garage when working on my car. In about 15 minutes it heats the garage warm enough to not need a jacket. I run it on high for about 30 min then back it to a low setting or it will make the garage hotter than I want it. Very happy with it.
A: HOT! The steel flame shroud inside starts to glow orange, that's about 1800 defrees Farenheit. I would advise to keep any flammable solide at least 6 feet away and flammable liquids out of the area.
A: In a non insulated 400 sqare feet Garage 10 degrees/ hour
A: If the blower is not operating, then you will have just a candle....and the potential for a fire also increases.
A: No, the blower runs as long as heater is plugged in.
A: The fan has to run when the burner is on...you can't run one without the other.
A: No unplugging turns it off.
A: No - That is the only thing I didnt like. You turn it to off and the propane turns off, thus the flame goes out, but the fan still runs until you unplug it.
A: Please see the safety instructions in the manual liked on this page. It contains the clearance information and states that this unit can not be used on combustible material. -GHP
A: It will provide the heat you want but it will not be a pleasant place to sit because of noise level.
A: It is not compatible with a 20lb tank. See the description for more details. -GHP
A: You just need power and propane. We have used it at driveway happy hour during covid and it works great. The fan is loud so keep that in mind.
A: Sure, but the openess combined with the wind will greatly reduce the effect..
A: We use ours to heat a 2 car garage with the doors closed. It will function outside on a deck or patio.
