A:  Hello, this unit is not compatible with a 20lb, tank. The minimum tank size requirement would be 40lbs. which would last approximately 7-12 hrs.               A:  It has a built-in thermostat and will cycle on and off to maintain the set temperature. I would think it would work for that application.

                      A:  No. You can use a standard 20lb "BBQ" tank. Use the old style connection, interior reverse thread on the tank valve body

                      A:  The fan is powerful so there's some noise, but, I wouldn't call it too noisy.

                        A:  the heater has a blower, so it does make a fair amount of noise. if you don't want any noise, get a radiant heater without a blower.
