A: Yes your current clamp will work fine. The 4 1/2" clamp closes to the 4" you will require top secure a standard 4" duct

A: While you can certainly exhaust the hose outside of your window there is such a thing as a "Window plate" in the market that is a glass frame with a hole cut into it. Your duct can fit thorugh this hole. This would be more ideal as he hole would fit securely around your duct and you wouldn't experience any heat / cool loss from your wondow being open.
