Q:Is there a slightly bigger version of this? I need to cut through travertine tile that is 9/16" thick. Given that I only need to cut around 70" total, I don't want to spend the money on a wet tile cutter.

A:  I am not sure. However, if you don’t find it at Home Depot, I suggest you go to to Drexel’s website.

A:  You could cut from both sides of the tile. Make one pass from the finished side then cut the back of the tile. Just be sure to cut at a slow pace. The wheel is durable and will do the job provided you take your time.

A:  It will score it or cut through it depending how much pressure you apply, but as with any plastic the heat of friction could melt the plastic.

A:  Used it on concrete outdoor tile. Not a lot of dust considering the material and blade speed but it did create dust. Worked outside so not an issue.

A:  Any material that is removed is going to become dust. If you have a vacuum hose, with the vacuum running, near the work it will reduce the amount of dust that will become air born.

A:  This blade is really easy to brake. It might cut a very thin piece. Any strong pressure and the center of wheel will brake!!! I tried to cut marble and went though 2 of them just to cut a hole 1in square and 1/4 in deep.

A:  Yes it probably will, it depends on the size of the granite (i.e.length and thickness) as the cutting wheel will wear down.

A:  From what I recall this “disc” is 3/4” +/- diameter so it cannot “cut” anything thicker than half the diameter. It worked well on porcelain tile for what I purchased the disc for.
