A:  This variation of the Unidoor must be installed with the glass shelves. The glass shelves function as shelves, but more importantly, they provide support to the stationary panel. Failing to install the glass shelves will void the warranty and could compromise the safety of the product because the stationary glass will not have enough support. If you do not want glass shelves, you will need to get the variation of the door that comes with a support bar for the stationary glass which is Unidoor model # SHDR-20577210-09. There is also another variation available in a 57-78" size that uses a more modern low-profile (patented) L-bar support, and this model is called the Unidoor-LS (model # SHDR-2057722-09). For this model, the door glass will have an installed width of 27" (actual glass width will be a little smaller to account for the hinges) and the stationary glass will have an installed width of 30" (actual glass width will be a good amount smaller to make room for the channels on the wall). A:  No - this model size will not fit a 58-1/2" opening because the absolute maximum width this model size will accommodate is 58". The next model size up will fit your opening which will be the 58" - 59" model size. The model number for the correct size to fit your opening is model # SHDR-20587210S-04 which will be for a 58" - 59" Unidoor shower door with brushed nickel hardware. A:  Yes - the Unidoor shower door is fully reversible. Please be sure to have the proper wood reinforcement behind your finished walls on the side where you intend to install the door glass. This model's heavy door glass requires either double (side-by-side) studs or 2x6 blocking so that the provided wood screws for the hinges that hold the door bore into a stud. A:  DreamLine recommends using a squeegee after each shower to remove any small amounts of residual water from the glass. This will help keep the glass looking nice and clean and if you do this before exiting the shower, it will also reduce the water that lands on your bathroom floor when you open it.
