Q:MY OPENING WIDTH IS 53". WILL THIS DOOR FIT AND STILL LOOK GOOD?
    by|Nov 6, 2018

    Answer This Question

A:  Unfortunately, adjusting the Infinity-Z down to fit a 53" opening will leave you with a very small access opening of appx. 18". If that works for you, it can be done but is not recommended. If you have any other questions, please contact the DreamLine Customer Support Team at 866.731.2244. We are available 8am-7pm EST, Monday through Friday, and Saturdays from 9am to 5pm EST and will be happy to answer any questions you may have. You may also send an email to support@dreamline.com. Q:CAN IT BE INSTALLED ON A SURROUND TUB AND WALL ATTACHED TO THE SURROUND WALL?

      Answer This Question

A:  Jerry, I installed mine on a solid wall with ceramic tile. I drilled the mounting holes and placed wall anchors in them. Then the screws were inserted through the mounting rails and into the anchors. Just as an aside, since the unit has a fixed glass on one side, you install the door system as a complete unit. I'm not sure if it would work on a surround system, unless you can hit a solid surface behind it (beam) after drilling a pilot hole through the surround. Here's a link to the installation instructions on the Home Depot site. Maybe this will help determine whether or not this sytem will work for you. You can also try contacted the manufacture for assistance. Good luck! https://images.homedepot-static.com/catalog/pdfImages/88/880b8639-677a-4af5-adb9-24656391fa45.pdf

A:  All DreamLine shower/tub doors and enclosures require smooth, solid finished walls (at least as tall as the shower door or enclosure) and true 90° angles where the wall meets the threshold. If the walls of your enclosure have any give or flex to them when you push on the wall, most likely there is a pocket of dead space behind the wall and the wall is not solid. Please make sure that your shower meets the requirements for installation before making your choice. A:  The frosted side is smooth, but does not have a "slick" feel like the non-frosted side of the glass. The frosted side is meant to be installed facing outward, with the smoother side installed to the inside of your shower. Q:Is this a bypass or not, one place says a stationary door and another says bypass

                    Answer This Question

A:  I see what you mean and can understand the confusion. The Infinity-Z shower door contains a stationary panel and one sliding panel. It is not a bypass shower door, which is where both panels move. The "bypass/sliding" designation in the Details area is a general designation for shower doors that The Home Depot assigns to the product. If you are interested in a bypass shower door, the Duet Shower door would be a good choice for you to look at.
