A: Definitely the 120 grit! I have done whole houses where we needed to knock-down the old paint. Even the 120 will ‘load up’ pretty fast……definitely wouldn’t go 220.

A: 120 grit. Latex paint will gum up on the pad so you'll have to scrap off the paint if it gets too chunky.

A: Hello, Hook and Lock is the backing that connects the sandpaper to the sander. It is very similar to Velcro.

A: It's hook and loop lock. Meaning the Velcro backing can be removed, readjusted and reused several times on your sander

A: I've never heard of problems with the Diablo sanding disks. I've used them for years with no issue on both Porter Cable and Rigid sanders.

A: Interesting… these are the only type I use with my DEWALT cordless palm sander and I have never had an issue. It could be the hook and lock system on your sander has failed in a way that does not allow the pads to stay tight to the sander. I would examine your tool base to see how far it has deteriorated. I know the DEWALT model has replacement parts available
