Q:Can this be used on a 1500 series? If so what do I need to do to convert?

Answer This Question

A:  Hi Kris! Thank you for your question and we are happy to help. The conversion kit RP29405 will change a 1500 series trim into a 17 series. The 17 series cartridge will include a rotational limit stop that must be set accordingly. Information on making this adjustment can be found on page 8, step C of the Maintenance and Installation manual below. https://media.deltafaucet.com/MandI/X00037744_G.pdf Best Regards, Carrie

Q:I have an older Delta Monitor probably before 2006, likely 1995 or so. I’d like to replace the trim as it is working properly. Can I do so without changing the valve?

    Answer This Question

A:  Hi Carl, Thanks so much for contacting Delta Faucet Company about T17038! If the pre-2006 trim kit has the duel handles, and screws at 1&7, then this trim kit would fit the old rough without replacing it. However, the new cartridge would not fit, you would still need to use your old cartridge. Please contact us directly if you have any questions or need additional assistance. Q:Will this replace a model year 2000 Delta Monitor Series 1700 trim and handle assembly with the original cartridge and rough-in??

      Answer This Question

A:  Hi mikesn5va, Thanks for your question regarding T17038! Models manufactured in Sept. 2006 or later will have a MultiChoice valve, which will allow you to change the series of trim. MultiChoice series numbers are 13, 14, 17, or 17T. Units made prior to this date can be upgraded, but only with trim of the corresponding series. 1300/1400 Series trims can be replaced with 13/14 Series trim kits using the original RP19804 cartridge and 1700 Series trims can be replaced with 17 Series trim kits using the RP32104 cartridge. Q:It says the valve isn't included... what valve am I supposed to get?

A:  When they refer to the "valve" I think it is really what is also called the "rough in". The valve cartridge is included so you don't need to buy that. You will need to make sure your rough in Valve) is compatible with this item. I suggest contacting Delta

          Answer This Question

A:  Hi Dave, Thanks so much for contacting Delta Faucet Company about, T17038! Due to our pre-2006 rough valves being model specific, you can upgrade a 1700 to a T17 series and use the same rough and cartridge as the original. This trim kit would fit your pre-2006 shower valve, you would not use the new cartridge included with this kit. Please contact us directly if you have any questions or need additional assistance. Answer This Question

A:  Hi 808va, Thanks for your question regarding T17038-SS! Our Delta Faucet would require an elbow and has two options for installation. Elbow: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Delta-Hand-Shower-Wall-Elbow-in-Lumicoat-Stainless-50560-SS-PR/317574850 Options 1: Purchase an R11000 rough end and T11800 trim kit, please see the link below to the rough and trim. This would also require you to add two holes in the wall for plumbing. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Delta-1-Handle-3-Setting-Diverter-Valve-Trim-Kit-in-Stainless-Valve-Not-Included-T11800-SS/203935473 Option 2: If you do not want to add any extra holes in the wall, then we would recommend the 3-way diverter that attaches to the shower arm and allows the hose to attach for flow. Please see the link below. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Delta-3-Way-Shower-Arm-Diverter-for-Handheld-Shower-Head-in-Stainless-U4929-SS-PK/203124752 Please feel free to contact us with any questions or for further assistance. A:  Hi Jeff, Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet model T17038-SS. The cartridge included in this trim kit will not fit a pre-MultiChoice valve rough. The rest of the trim can be used to update a faucet with a 1700 series valve, but the pre-MultiChoice RP32104 cartridge would need to be reused. Please contact us directly if you have any additional questions! Best Regards, Bryan Digital Communications Specialist (800) 345-3358 customerservice@deltafaucet.com
