A:  Hi Mike It's been a few years since I installed this unit in a house we were prepping for sale but as I recall it was all metal except for the nylon ball swivel that operates the drain

A:  mine was metal. This is the best drain I have used. The pop up actually works and when seated with little effort it holds water. I had a pop up that didn't work and replaced with this. like it so much I installed in another bathroom

Q:Is the drain flange flat or angled? By angled, I mean does the inner circumference sit below the outer circumference or are the two on the same plane?

A:  The drain is flanged. Plumbers putty should be applied to the underside of the flange as usual procedure prior to tightening and securing I’m place. The finished drain sits fairly level with its surroundings, depending upon the sink design in the area that accommodates the drain. They work very well and are durable plus they look great.

A:  In the pipe the flange screws into.

A:  The overflow holes are in the flange. I installed 2 in our master bathroom to replace the 30 year old chrome Delta drain assemblies. I didn't want the plastic type. The first one sealed at the bottom with no leaks, but the other one had a slight leak at the bottom of the sink where the big rubber gasket seals against the bottom of the sink. I had to wrap some thick teflon tape around the threads to keep the water from leaking down via the pipe threads. So far everything is OK. Good luck.

A:  The overflow (4 holes) is part of the flange that sits up top in the sink, which was crucial to me as my overflow is off to the upper left corner of my sink and when the 2 pieces tightened together it allowed the left hole to be right where my overflow is located.

A:  It's in three pieces... The upper flange, the center with the rod and nuts, and a lower extension that attaches to the drain pipe. Both the upper and lower pieces thread into the 'center'. Teflon tape is applied to the threads of the lower section to prevent leaks...

A:  Thank you for your question, Otis. The tailpiece at the bottom of the assembly will unscrew from the piece with the flat sides that the horizontal rod goes into. The flange at the top can be unscrewed from this part as well. Best regards, Jon
