A:  It pivots up. If you look, you can see a small gap where it lays when down. That part simply pivots up. I've attached a picture. After pivoting, you can simply slide the toilet paper on and close it. We love it.

A:  One side has a hinge which allows the bar to lift up. Maybe pivot is not quite the right word for it.

A:  The bar swings up from the left side.

A:  HI, Do you see that 45 degree angle cut on the tube in the photo on the right side, the bar lifts from there easily, as it lifts the horizontal tube (Holder) pivots and moves straight up on the left, the left side pivots so you can reload , very simple, no springs, common sense approach that works.

A:  it pivots from the right up to the left at a 90 degree angle

A:  bar pivots on left side and rotates counter clockwise (up and to the left) and stops at 12 oclock

A:  As shown the left half raises upward to put on a roll. there is an angular cut in the center bar near the right side that allows the center bar to lift or pivot upward. After the new roll is installed the center bar lowers back to it's original position

A:  It's less than $20 at Home Depot, I'd get another one. Take the one you have and screw it the wall in your garage and use it as a tape roll holder.

A:  I've installed two of these but unfortunately I don't know if there are replacement parts available. Maybe you could go to home Depot and get the manufactures phone number and call for parts.
