A:  Hi mnelson, thank you for your interest in the 19978Z-SS-DST! It is possible that a flush could resolve this issue. To flush the supply line, first shut off the hot and cold-water supply. Remove the hot supply line from the shut-off valve and place the line into a bucket. Open the handle to the fully open middle position, and then turn the cold supply back on for one minute. The cold water should flow through the faucet and out of the hot supply tube. Reconnect the supply line and repeat with the second line. A:  Don't know the material, but yes the handle can be installed any direction you want it.

A:  The side to side motion is restricted so you can’t really rotate the handle to the front. Outside is a metal shell. Some of the internals are plastic.

I don’t understand what you mean by “Handle in front”.        If you want the faucet handle in front, no- the faucet handle is stationary.        What I like is ability to use a reeally strong spray with an “umbrella” spray that keeps water from splashing all over user and sink. -Larry

Our Delta product is a mixture of metallic and non-metallic material, Quality is very important to us and our products undergo rigorous testing to ensure high-quality performance. Non-metallic products are beneficial in that they do not rust or corrode and help prevent heat transfer. We recommend installing this faucet with the handle on the right. You may install it with the handle on the front or left side in a single-hole installation, but the temperature adjustment will be the opposite of the standard operation for single-handle faucets. You could compensate for this by swapping the hot and cold supply lines under the sink. However, the red/blue button on the handle will no longer indicate the correct temperature.
