Q:Can this alarm be used to alert me to dogs in my yard? Some pet owners are letting their dogs 'go' in our yards and not cleaning up after them.

Answer This Question

A:  With the sensitivity adjustment feature you can be alerted to dogs and cats within a defined area. You might consider a video option though.

by|May 2, 2023

A:  It probably depends on the size of the yard or method of access. This unit has excellent sensitivity, so if you can mount the sensor in a protected area that is a narrow access into the yard, it would work well. It cannot monitor a whole yard.

A:  Hello saylorswatch, Thank you for your inquiry. This device has two sensitivity options, and when set to high can detect approaching pedestrians. Depending on the size of the animal the Frontline system should alert you. Best Regards, CWD Support

Q:How loud is the alert, will it wake you?

    Answer This Question

A:  With the volume on high, it will definitely awaken you. The volume control is as on a portable radio; that is it is on a rheostat and has an infinite control of the volume. Not just one or two settings as many other alerts have.

A:  Might wake you if you're right near it.

    by|May 2, 2023

A:  Unit has volume adjustability and it can go very loud. At medium level I can hear it throughout a 2600 square foot office.

A:  Perhaps if the receiver is next to your bed.

Q:Does the wireless signal work only by line of sight?

      Answer This Question

A:  The wireless unit that we purchased goes through several walls on the same level, but I cannot attest to a 200 foot change in height.

      by|May 2, 2023

A:  The sensor and receiver can communicate with each other through varying barriers and elevations, it does not need to be in open line of sight.

A:  No. It's a radio signal, not an infra red signal like your TV remote.

A:  Ours works at 100+ feet and through one exterior wall to our house. It is not "line of sight".

          Answer This Question

A:  The model we have only has an alert tone at the monitor.

          by|May 2, 2023

A:  The audio sensor is only at the monitor.

          by|May 2, 2023

          A:  Only at the monitor.

          by|May 2, 2023

          A:  MONITOR ONLY

          by|May 2, 2023

          A:  Just on the receiver.

          by|May 2, 2023

A:  The audible alert is only from the monitor. The sensor does not emit any indication that motion has been detected.

Q:If I am only monitoring with one sensor, can I turn it off I desire. Do not want it coming on over patio if entertaining in the evenings.

A:  The on/off switch is on the top of the monitor and is easy to access if the monitor is easy to access. You can also turn the volume down.

A:  The AL101 Driveway alert system allows you to turn off individual sensors directly from the monitor. This will prevent the alert trigger and can be easily turned back on when needed.

              by|May 2, 2023

A:  Yes. The main unit has an on/off button along with an on/off button for each zone being monitored. The entire system can be disabled and any zones that you don't want the unit to respond to can be disabled individually.

                by|May 2, 2023

A:  You can turn the monitor to a lower level, or completely turn it off. You can also turn up to three individual zones on and off at the monitor, with a very easy to use switch system.

                  by|May 2, 2023

A:  Unit can use up to 3 sensors and there's a button for each on the monitor to shut each one off individually if desired.
