Thank you for your inquiry. The Durock Shower System can be installed with either modified or unmodified thinset mortar that meets any one of the following ANSI:
A118.1, A118.4, A118.11, or A118.15.
Hope this helps.

A: Yes, you can easily put two together. They are very easy to cut to get the length needed.

A: Yes, modular system easy to adjust length with regular hand saw. Would recommend using a 4’ level or longer to ensure you maintain a straight line. If worried about longitudinal support you could add a dowel but probably not necessary.

A: Yes you can. Just make sure a tile does not meet at the seam.

Answer This Question
A: This is how I did it. Place your curb as desired then cut to fit your pan in the space. Use Kerdi or Schluter band around the edges per the directions.

A: You need a similar foam tray, waterproof fabric, and drain system to complete the project and be ready to tile. Durock has a system along with several other companies. I chose the Durock curb because it was 1 inch lower than other manufacturers.

A: Because my liner was already in place I put it on top of the liner using the tile cement. If the liner or pan is not in yet then the liner goes over the curb. I cut my curb down to two by two and tiled it. It works great!

Q:I have a preexisting walk in shower on a concrete floor. For the opening one side is concrete the other is a glass wall that is attached directly to the floor. I want to put in a curb to discourage water from going out of the shower area. Could I install the curb onto the concrete floor with one end attaching to the glass wall? What would I use to seal the edge of that wall?

Answer This Question
A: Thank you for your inquiry. The Durock Shower System curb is generally installed before the rest of the shower is tiled. It is covered with the Durock Waterproofing Membrane and then tiled along with the rest of the shower.
If the curb butts up against a glass wall there would be no way to finish the end of it and you would see the blue foam through the glass wall. We do not have any installation recommendations for this application.
