A:  Hello, our 4in corded in-line duct fan unfortunately is not designed for this application. Because the motor is not sealed, there would be a possibility of fire hazard due to the vapors from the gas fired water heater. As long as the air temperature does not exceed 140 degrees Fahrenheit, we would suggest one of our centrifugal fans. A:  Hello, yes this is normal depending on what the unit is set to, but it can be adjusted to be more sensitive to temperature rise/fall. A:  Hello, when the Ductstat is set to 3 for sensitivity it will allow the unit to turn on/off with less of a temperature rise/fall. When set to 7 it allows the unit to operate with a wider range of temperature rise and fall. Thank you.

A:  Hello, on new units, you will need to set the sensitivity switch to + and on older models, you will need to set the switch to 3. Thank you.

A:  Hello, the Ductstat has a set point temperature that you can adjust and will make the unit turn a device on once it reaches that certain temperature. Once it again reaches that set point temperature after the HVAC cycle has finished it will then shut the device off. Thank you.
