So if that error is a possibility, then it may we be that instead they forgot to add that it was a carbide tip . So which is it?

Q:Can I use this blade to cut walnut butcher block?

              Answer This Question

A:  Any saw blade can cut any wood. Look for a blade that has teeth that will cut the finish you want. Different blades cut different finishes such as plywood which has different teeth. A finishing blade is the standard blade for general uses.

              by|Oct 15, 2019

A:  You can but might want to go with a finer cut blade

              by|Jan 12, 2020

              A:  I would recommend a 40 tooth carbide blade.

A:  Will probably rip through it, but may want to use a blade with more teeth(40 or 60) so that you get a cleaner cut.

A:  It will certainly cut it, but I’d recommend a blade with more teeth for a cleaner cut.

                by|Dec 25, 2019

A:  This blade is intended to cut softwood ( pine, spruce, fir) framing lumber - think 2 x 4 and similar. While this blade will cut walnut and other hardwoods, it will not cut it well, and likely damage most handheld circular saws, while giving a rough cut. I would not use this blade to cut any butcher block materials.

A:  They are great blades and they will definitely cut through a butcher block. Keep in mind a 24 T blade is more of a ripping blade. You may want a higher tooth blade (i.e. 44T or higher) for a cleaner cut.

A:  I think you want a higher tooth count, someone at a hardware or big box store should know for sure. Good luck walnut is a beautiful wood.

A:  You can rip with it I wouldn't recommend crosscutting with it for cross-cutting you want 60 teeth or more unless you don't care about how clean the cut is.

                      Answer This Question

A:  The larger number of teeth is usually used for cutting the finer or more delicate materials

                      by|Jan 11, 2019

A:  The more teeth a blade has, the cleaner the cut. If you are making furniture or doing fine word working, you want to use a 60-tooth blade. A 40-tooth blade is good for most general carpentry. A 24-tooth blade is good for rough cutting only. The more teeth the blade has, the more expensive it will be.

                        by|Jan 10, 2019

A:  The more teeth you have the finer the cut. If you’re cutting a 2 x 4 for framing work fewer teeth is fine but if you are cutting cabinet plywood or paneling more teeth cut with less impact on the wood or material cutting. Basically coarse or fine cut.

                          A:  The number of teeth

                          by|Jan 11, 2019

A:  The saw blade tooth number corresponds to the number of teeth you have needed to previously lose before you can operate the saw correctly. Alternatively, it is the number of teeth on the saw blade. A higher number will give a slower, finer cut while a lower number gives a faster, rougher cut.

A:  I would not attempt to cut any metal with this blade. Make sure you get a blade that is made for cutting metal. If you have to cut through nails, Milwaukee reciprocating (demolition saws) with metal cutting blades work wonders. Just make sure you push them hard against the surface you are cutting (and you are not cutting through any live electric lines or plumbing lines).

A:  Yes, but it greatly reduces the blade life. Try their carbide tipped sawzall blades for demolition where nails are likely to be encountered.

A:  Do not use this blade to saw through nails. You need to use a reciprocating saw for that...with a blade designed to cut through metal.
