Q:does this tape twist because ive seen lots of people have that problem with there tape measure ? The front just twists whats wrong with or is fixed ?

A: Purely a guess but it looks like a way of tying a lanyard to it so you can connect it to a belt loop or something. This would be for when you are working on a steep roof and you drop you tape. You don't want it rolling all the way off the roof so you have to climb down to retrieve it.
