Q:does the router separate from base to use in other dewalt bases?

The router DW621 does not come apart to be used with another base. This unit can be used as a fixed base or plunge base.

A: Hi Grandpa1953, to start the router you will need to press the thumb lock and then squeeze the trigger. Now if you are wanting to have the trigger stay on the steps are: squeeze the trigger first then press the thumb lock forward and release the trigger. To stop the router press the trigger and it will release the switch.

A: Very many tables, especially tables with customizable inserts that you drill to match your own router. We can't possibly list every table in the world that fits a DW621.

A: We have not tested the Bosch edge guide with our DEWALT DW621. We would recommend the DW6913 and part # 559585-98 for your DW621 Router.

Q:Does this router lock in the downward position or do you always have to press down? How fine is the depth adjustment? Trying to by a router that "does it all" without the multiple bases.

A: Yes, it locks and unlocks with a turn off the left handle, at whatever plunge depth you set.

Q:it says it has integral dust collection, but in the specifications says it doesn't.I'm confused about that.
