Q:I am installing a heavy duty door stop in porcelain tile then in concrete. As long as I keep water on the bit, will it drill through the tile, and then into the concrete (a total of 1 3/4 inches deep). Will this 5/8 diamond drill work through both materials? Is it long enough to drill deep enough for me

          Answer This Question

A:  Yes, but you must keep it flooded with water ,and you must "peck" at the hole.

A:  Hi Robert, this is okay for the porcelain tile, however this is not the right configuration of material for the concrete. You would need a 5/8" carbide bit for concrete. The diamond grit on the drill bit is not strong enough for the concrete.
