          Answer This Question

A:  Yes it will but remove any peeling or loose paint first.

          by|Dec 8, 2018

A:  I would say yes if the paint is solidly adhered to the base. If it is flaky or peeling, I would not use any contact adhesive until the surface has been prepared.

Q:I'm remodeling my bathroom in my Father-In-Laws house and he wants the tile taken out and replaced with plastic shower boards but we have to replace the backboard as well. So I'm going to use cement wonderboard but we need to waterproof it before we can apply the new walls. Can this product work for what I need? If not can I have recommendations as to what might better suit my needs? Thanks in advance.

A:  No. Not at all. You need a waterproof industrial-quality glue. The kind that you'll find in a tube to go into your caulk gun. Home Depot has several. I know because I tried the exact same thing when remodeling my bathroom.

A:  This is a question you may be better asking the manufacture. Never thought to use as a waterproofing . Redgard Waterproofing is what I would use.If you are installing a shower stall with three walls and a base you do not need wonder-board you can install against studs.

A:  Hello Momo. I’m Chris from the Home Depot’s how-to Community. Thank you for your question. Contact cement would be a poor choice. There is a product specifically made to do what you want. It is made by Custom Building Products and is called RedGard. Search internet # 100 169 081 at the top of this page to go to the gallon size product page. Other sizes are available as well. I hope this helps, Chris. .
