A:  Thank you for choosing Danco products. Yes, this product includes only one spacer. There is not a way to cut the spacer and still have it work correctly. We have updated the installation instructions to refer to the single spacer, but there may be older units still on retailer shelves with the older instructions. A:  the site refers to it as "universal fit". When I tried one, a step on the shaft made for a less than satisfactory fit. The handle wobbled. Most of the shafts, I've seen' do not have a step

Our Danco, 80019 Large Canopy Handles in Chrome, do come with vive grip adapters that will attach to most valve stem applications. Now there are other factors that will meed to be determined to know if they would work for you application, such as the dimensions and length or depth required to ensure proper fit. If you prefer a direct fir handle that will work for you application, you would need to identify the handle or stem broach. The simplest way to identify your broach is to take your (good) handle or valve stem to your local Home Depot location to identify the broach letter. They have the Danco Perfect Match broach Id gauges Once you know the broach letter, just match it to the letters in the upper right handle corner of the handle package and one that has the closest dimensions to ensure it will be compatible with your application.

A:  Thank you for contacting Danco. It will depend on the stem that this handle is attaching to. The purpose for the tube and flange is to hide the long portion of the stem that connects to the handles. If the stem portion is not visible and you are able to connect the handle without any visibility of the stem than a tube and flange will not be needed.
