A:  Thank you for your interest in Danco products. For the hot side, use the 9c-7h stem (http://www.homedepot.com/p/DANCO-9C-7H-Hot-Stem-for-KOHLER-Faucets-15809B/100534695?keyword=9c-7h)

A:  This is for cold water use.

A:  Yes, the threads are the same, but the turning directions for HOT & COLD faucets are 'reversed' from one another...turn the handle clockwise to open the COLD valve, but turn the handle counter-clockwise for the HOT handle. Otherwise look and function identically.

Q:So would that Cause it to still leak.?

          Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your inquiry. The little round piece is the faucet seat. It goes into the faucet first (unscrew the old one using a seat wrench) and gives the rubber on the end of the stem a smooth, clean surface to seal against. If it wasn't changed when the stem was, that could explain why you have a leak.

A:  If you are talking about the valve seat as "the little round piece", that is inserted into the valve assembly. You can remove the valve seat with a SQUARE valve seat tool...we bought that tool at Home Depot, so get it while you're at the store. You have to unscrew the stem from the valve assembly, the seat is what the stem closes on...sometimes that piece gets "goobered up"/scratched/scored and allows water to seep past the stem. Replacing it is a very good idea.
