Q:I bought these to replace old American standard flanges. I cut the nipples to size exactly following directions and threaded into bonnets. The shower and cold flanges hold against the tiled shower wall; but the flange on the hot side keeps loosening away from the tiled wall. do you have any suggestions? Over time (about a week) it keeps loosening. It seems like the nipple turns out of the bonnet nut and because the flange threads onto the nipple it loosens. thanks,m.r.

A: Thank you for your interest in Danco item #10311- Universal Adjustable Tub/Shower Handle Flange in Chrome. This product has a universal, adjustable design with a metal flange and sleeve that provides multiple length options. Also included are (2) nipples with multiples thread options to fit most manufacturers faucet stems. As such this product should work with the 9H-8H/C stem.

A: For starters, a part number without a manufacturer name is not very helpful.
I have used the flange kit in the picture a couple of times, and it has worked for me. Those plastic adapter pieces cover a wide range of sizes, with the extra advantage that they will also work in cases where the thread pitch does not quite match. They also have the very obvious advantage, which is not mentioned in the instructions, that they will never corrode and be hard to remove. THAT is a nice unanticipated benefit.
My suggestion is to disassemble the flange that you are replacing and either measure the size of the threads, or bring it into the store to compare sizes. But if you bring hardware into the store be sure to stop at the service desk first to show them what you are bringing in, so that you can then bring it back out without any questions.

A: Thank you for your interest in Danco products. We do not offer a 9c-27h/c stem. This may fit what you have. How closely does it resemble the flange you took off? Did the old flange have a nipple like the black plastic ones included with this? If so, it should work.
