Q:My plumber installed a universal shower valve body. Will the black Moen trim kit work for a universal valve. If not, which one in black will work with a universal valve.

A:  hank you for your interest in Danco and for your inquiry. Danco model number 11083 is compatible with Moentrol and Posi-Temp cartridge style shower faucets. Unfortunately, we do not offer a trim kit that will fit a universal valve.

    Q:Can this kit convert from an old push pull style to the lever style? Old arthritic hands can't pull the knob out anymore and I need a new lever style that just spins to turn on.

          A:  Yes, that doesn't come with the shower valve.

          A:  No tub spout, just the shower handle, shower trim plate, and all the necessary screws to install.

            Q:can I replace the old-style Moen chateau with this model? existing kit holes are at 5&7 what suggest if it doesn't

            A:  An old style Moen Chateau shower trim needs a converter to change from a 5&7 hole pattern to 8 & 2, matching the new shower trims. Moen sells the 145058 shower adaptor to do this. It's a brass piece that screws to the Moen standard valve (NOT PosiTemp)

Our o-rings have a durable rubber construction with black finish and our silicone grease is designed for use as a waterproof lubricant on faucets, valve stems, cartridges and is safe for nitrite/rubber O-rings.
