Questions and Answers for DANCO 3S-10C Cold Stem for Glacier Bay Faucets

A:  Thank you for your interest in Danco products and for your inquiry. Danco 3S-10C (04999) replaces OEM model number A507072W.

A:  Yes and No. The outer casing was a bit too wide for me, so I used the old casing but replaced the guts with the new stem. You may have to play around with the plastic rings.This video is helpful:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r5_9JlkZUME&t=405s

A:  Thank you for contacting Danco. No, this stem will not work for you. This stem is designed for sinks only. Also a stem is used for two handle faucets (either hot side, cold side, or hot/cold side) where as a cartridge is for a one handle faucet. Some stems are designed for tubs, but unfortunately this one cannot be used for a tub.

A:  I had the same issue. Actually I found the same situation at Lowe's. It seems to be an oversight between Danco and the retailers, or they don't think the cold stem will need replacement as often.

A:  Thank you for your interest in Danco products. The Danco 3S-10C, product number 04999E is a cold side stem only and cannot be reversed to operate as a hot side stem. You will need to get the Danco 3S-10H, product number 04998E to operate the way you are accustomed to.

A:  This unit does not.

A:  Hi Marshall, Unfortunately, we do not have a cross reference for that part number. Based on your description, it could be Danco part numbers 04998(H) and 04999(C), or part numbers 10406 (H) and 10407(C), but without seeing the stems, it is difficult to say for certain. If you take the cartridges to your local Home Depot store, one of the plumbing associates should be able to help you identify which is correct for your faucet. Best regards, Danco Support

A:  Don't even bother. The washer isn't the problem. In my opinion the overall cartridge design is bad / faulty. I know from personal experience. My recommendation is to take the unit back and get your money back and seek out a different product from a different manufacturer.
