Questions and Answers for Commercial Electric 11 in. 120-Watt Equivalent Brushed Nickel 2700K CCT LED Ceiling Light Flush Mount with Frosted White Glass Shade
Q:Does the light stay on at night on low as a nightlight?
by|Nov 28, 2023
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: No the light should not stay on at night on low. If the fixture glows when the switch is turned off, it is most likely due to input power black and white wires being reverse connected to the fixture black and white wires. This can happen at the fixture junction box or at the wall switch, so try reversing the connection at the fixture to see if that eliminates the glow. Also, lighted wall switches or dimmers can cause the glow, so try one that doesn’t have indicator lights. If you should still require additional assistance, please contact us at info@cordelia.com.

A: Mine is attached to the electrical box, with sheet rock surrounding the box. That said, there is no reason you can't attach it to the box without sheet rock on the joists. It's designed to attach to the box as long as the box is attached to the joist.

A: HI Fred...I made a slight mistake when I answered your question. I replied for the wrong product. However, the first part of my answer still applies: "Yes, if you have power to that box. " Ignore the rest of my comment. But let me continue about this product. The base plate has two hole selections which will allow you to attach it to the box. Make sure you have the right box to match the connection holes of the plate. Connect the power wires together (hot to hot, neg to neg), cap the connections and tape for safety, line up the holes and bolt on base plate, attach cover, and power up. Very bright. Hope that helps. Good luck.

A: Yes, if you have power to that box. You can cut the plug off and hard-wire the light to the power source. Don't forget to cap off and tape each wire. HOWEVER, the easier way would be to mount an outlet receptacle (https://www.homedepot.com/p/Leviton-15-Amp-Tamper-Resistant-Duplex-Outlet-White-T5320-W/100662608) and connect to the power wire in the box. Then it will be just a matter of plugging the light into the receptacle. Also, by doing it this way, you can later move the light and you don't have to rewire it.
