Answer This Question
A: We can only recommend the dimmers specified in our instruction sheets. I don’t believe “x10” is part of the list.

A: Dear Customer,
If the light goes out, the entire light fixture will have to be replaced.

A: You do have to replace the unit if the LED fails, but it is rated 50,000 hour life span. If you used it 10hrs/day; which most people won't, it should not fail for almost 14 years.

Q:Drop ceiling has roughly 8 in. clearance from upper ceiling. So no room for a can. Have existing wiring there from 4' hood light that will be used. Can I install these without a can?

A: The retainer springs on this unit are designed for recessed lighting cans. They won't seal to the ceiling if you are planning to simply stick them in a ceiling hole. There are other similar units with a different type of retainer that may work.

A: Dear Customer,
A can must be used to install these recessed LED Trims. See Model # EV608941WH30-2 for a Recessed LED Trim option that will not need a can.

A: The trim has to be installed in a housing (can). An easier option maybe the following product which doesn't require a can, EnviroLite Model # EV608941WH27 Internet # 205978331

A: Thanks for your response guys. Okay so I went to the store and figured out how to install them without a can. I'll unscrew the springs mounts that holds them in place and then insert the light threw the pre-drilled hole then reattach the springs upside down witch will serve as a clamp. So my question is now, can I have these in a open area attached to a drop ceiling tile that's a little less then six inches below the original painted sheet rock ceiling. I'm guessing that the heat is very low on these since they are LED?

A: Dear customer,
Yes, you may use these LED Trims on sloped ceilings.

A: Sloped ceiling doesn't mean that the housing is different, so most likely you can use it in a sloped ceiling.

Q:It was easy to install but not sure if it is right. The socket isn't attached to anything inside the can. The old light fixture was an eyeball and the socket was attached to it. Now the socket is just free to move inside the can. Don't know if that is a hazard. The light works fine. There isn't anything inside the can to attach it to.

A: The socket it self is not an issue, but if the wiring going to the socket has exposed connections that could shock a person or short, you could have a potentially hazardous situation. Turn off the power to the light and verify that where the wiring is connected to the socket is insulated and that there is no potential for a person or an object to contact the wiring connection points. If so, you should be able to insulate it with black electrical tape. Best rule when dealing with electricity: If you are not 100% sure, ask a professional to inspect it.

This fixture already has the LED components built in, a separate LED bulb cannot be used in this case.

Q:What is the difference between the CERT65 multi-packs and these CER6730's?
by|Sep 27, 2015

Answer This Question
A: The CERT65-4 is designed to be used with specific housings listed on its label and in the instructions. The width of the flange for the CERT65-4 is 7.5 inches. As long as the can’s flange is less than 7.5 inches, then it should be covered.
