A:  No. These shelves use arms for support. They are mounted perpendicular to the shelf on the attached wall. The ends of the shelves are not directly supported by these arms. You can purchase braces for this purpose. But they are not necessary if you plan on using the shelves to carry the suggested weight. I used these in my basement bedroom closet and didn’t want to cut anything down to length. So I had one long segment run from one wall and terminated about 3/4 the length of that wall. Another shorter shelf ran the entire length of the shorter wall. They worked well.

A:  No, this system does not even include end brackets. It relies on the angle braces and screw clips attached to back wall. This is a good system. Our application is for clothing storage.

A:  The shelf cuts fairly easily with bolt cutters. I had a guy with a saw cut the closet rod to size. Suggest before cutting you measure and then cut shelf 3/4”-1” shorter to allow space for it to fit into the brackets on the wall.

A:  that all depends on how solid your wall is, if you are anchoring it in plaster or wooden studs. that's just as important for the angle supports. if you expect to put a lot of weight on it then I would do extra angle supports to help distribute the load. Don't get crazy

A:  The amount of weight this self will support largely depends on how (and how well) it is anchored to the wall. If you can fasten it into the wall studs with good screws, it might hold up to 80 lbs I think. But, if it is only mounted to drywall, I would say 20-40 lbs. Otherwise the product itself is a good value.
