A:  Yes. The tower is 17", and the shelves are 48". That adds up to 113", and not 108". Be sure to position the tower four feet from one wall, and have access to a saw to cut the shelves and trim for the other side.

A:  The shelves do not have a lip or wire in front to catch if installed at an angle. Even in the picture, I think those shelves are normal horizontal shelves that happen to have shoes on them. But, you can put shelves (and drawers) anywhere you want in the tower.
