A:  Hi BobDoorSize, We always go by "finished" opening size so you will want your door to be the same size as the "finished" opening. The door sits behind the opening and the weatherseal then seals the door to the opening. Most doors come in 2" increments in width so if you go to www.homedepot.com/garagedoors you can design the door you like and when you get to the SIZE tab just enter the specs for the size you want. A:  Hi Jojo, I'm not sure what you mean by "emergency release string"? If you mean outside emergency disconnect for an opener then no it is not included. This door does not come with an exterior lock but you order lock separately and install it on this door or you can go to www.homedepot.com/garagedoors and design this door to made with the exterior lock option in place.
