    A:  Jeff - If the garage door is more than 7 feet tall you will need to add the extension kits to get the door to open fully. For 7 1/2 feet to 8 foot doors you will need kit 7708CB and for 9 to 10 foot doors you will need 7710CB kit.

      A:  You could do this by making up a bracket on your own but the door would not fully open, you would still just have the travel for a 7 foot door. Just buy the kit.

            A:  You replace the last piece of rail that came with your opener with the new rail section in this kit. You also replace the chain and cable that came with your opener with the longer one that is supplied.

              A:  No. This is just an extension kit for the square tube rail that is used with Chamberlain openers. Liftmaster openers use a single piece "T" rail. That is what you will need.

                A:  No, this kit just extends the listed models capabilities from 7' to 8', it is not an entire chain.

                  A:  It would only work if you also use the extension rail that comes with the kit. It would then be an opener for an eight foot door. It would work on a 7 foot door but the motor would be located a foot farther to the back of the garage. It is an entire chain/cable replacement but for an 8 foot door. Call Chamberlain if you need to order a chain/cable for a 7 foot door.
