Q:What do you do about pieces that need to be cut? How do you get the pattern to match up and fit in the grid?

    Answer This Question

A:  Madison Ceiling Panels can only be installed as a full 2 ft. x 2 ft. tile. If you have spaces around the perimeter of your room that are less than a full 2 ft. x 2 ft. tile, please order Oxford, Fleur-de-lis, or Continental panels for these areas. Those tiles have a low relief pattern and will sit flush in a ceiling grid even when cut down from their full size.

        Answer This Question

A:  Ceilume's Madison Coffered ceiling tiles are made from a rigid vinyl that is Class A fire rated and GreenGuard Gold certified for indoor air quality so they're suitable for any room in your house. They are lay-in tiles that can be installed in 1", 15/16", and 9/16" suspended ceiling grids. Because of their strong 3 dimensional profile, they can only be installed as a full 2x2 tile. For those areas at the perimeter of your room where you'll most likely need to cut the tiles, you'll want to use Ceilume's Oxford or Serenity tiles as a border. You'll also need about 6" of space above the top of the ceiling grid to be able to easily install these tiles in the grid.

A:  No, it cannot be used on walls.

A:  Ceilume's Madison Lay-in Coffered Ceiling Panel can only be installed in a ceiling grid (1", 15/16", 9/16" & Slimline grids), the deeply coffered 3-dimensional shape of the Madison prevents it from being suitable for a Glue-Up installation. Q:What tile can we use as a border tile for this tile?

              Answer This Question

A:  Ceilume’s Oxford tile shares the Madison’s “square within a square” pattern but sits flush in the grid, even when cut down from its full 2 x 2 size. It’s an ideal border tile for the Madison.

Q:700 sq ft how many cases will I need

                Answer This Question

A:  Each case of Madison coffered ceiling panels covers 24 sq ft. You would need 30 cases to cover 700 sq ft. Please remember that the Madison coffered tile can only be installed as a full tile. Since most rooms don't lay out to a perfect full 2x2 grid so you'll most likely need to cut some tiles at the perimeter of the room. For those areas, you'll need to order either the Oxford or Serenity tile. Both of those tiles sit flush in the grid, even when cut down from their full 2x2 size, and make a great border to the Madison.

Q:What is the difference between the Madison and the Westminster ceiling tiles? Why does the Madison cost over twice as much?

                    Answer This Question

A:  I believe ones thicker. Just a heads up dont buy these unless the room will layout perfectly. Our wall was short on one side of the room and standard drop in tiles look terrible next to these.

                    by|May 1, 2020

A:  Ceilume's Madison Coffered Ceiling Panel projects upwards 1.85" from the ceiling grid whereas the Westminster Coffered Ceiling Panel only projects upwards 1.5". But the price difference actually comes from the thickness of the material: the Westminster is made from our .013" thick Feather-Light vinyl but the Madison is made from our .030" thick Signature vinyl. It's over twice the cost because it is over twice as thick.
