Answer This Question
A: The tiles are 2 ft by 2 ft or 4 square ft per tile. 6 tiles per case times 4 sq ft per tile gives 24 square ft per case. 109 divided by 24 is 4.54 per square ft.

A: The Madison Faux Wood coffered ceiling panels are sold in cases of 6 at HomeDepot.com. The $4.54 refers to the price per square foot. Please remember that the coffered ceiling panels can only be installed as a full 2x2 tile. Since most ceilings don't lay out to a perfect 2'x2' grid, you will most likely need to cut the tiles at the perimeter of the room. For those areas, you can use the Ceilume Oxford tile which sits flush in the grid even when cut down from it's full 2x2 size.

Answer This Question
A: Because of their strong 3-dimensional shape, Madison can only be installed as a full 2x2 tile. If you have spaces around the perimeter of your room that are less than a full 2x2 tile, please order the one of the Continental tiles which work well, even when cut down from their full size. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Ceilume-Continental-Faux-Wood-Cherry-2-ft-x-2-ft-Lay-in-or-Glue-up-Ceiling-Panel-Case-of-6-V3-CONT-22CHY/205105190 We are working on adding a completely smooth tile called the Serenity and an Oxford tile which matches the "Square within a Square" pattern of the Madison but sits flush in the grid even when cut from its full size. Both are currently available only through the Home Depot Special Order Desk.

A: The Madison is made of a rigid vinyl and will unaffected by the heat of standard incandescent or led light bulbs in a can light housing. We do not recommend using halogen light bulbs with Ceilume tiles as those lights throw off enough heat to warp the ceiling tiles.

Q:Can tile be cut in a center for recessed light ?

Answer This Question
A: Installing can lights above the Madison presents a special challenge because of its deeply recessed center. However, there are ways to install canned lighting with them. In fact, a Ceilume customer sent us this helpful e-mail describing of how he did it!
"I have the ticket for success with the recessed can light fitting over the Madison tile; take the standard 1 1/2 tall t-bar pieces and cut them at just over 2'(26 - 28"), cross them at 90 degrees to the grid bars that make up the existing grid work; almost like building a log cabin. Since it is standard grid material, the can light fittings snap right on to them just like normal. To secure, I will just zip tie them to the existing grids. I did a prototype and the height is perfect for the Madison tile. It clears the tile completely by 1/4'' so sagging or pressing on the tile is a non-issue"

A: The Madison Lay-in Coffered ceiling panel has a very strong 3 dimensional profile. It projects DOWN from the ceiling grid by .5" and it recesses UP from the face of the grid 1.8". This strong 3 dimensional profile means that it can only be installed as a full 2x2 tile. For areas around the perimeter of the room, you'll want to use a low profile tile like the Ceilume Oxford or Fleur-de-lis as a "border".

A: The recess is 1.80'' from the face of the tile.

Answer This Question
A: No. You have to put in a 2ft tee.
by|May 5, 2023
A: The Madison Coffered Ceiling tile by Ceilume can only be installed in a 2x2 ceiling grid. Most ceiling grids can easily be converted from a 2x4 lay-out to a 2x2 by adding 2' T's. Just make sure that the tabs at the end of the T's you purchase will fit the pre-cut slots of your existing ceiling grid.
