Q:I have stairs that are 1 5/8". I am thinking that means I need the type 2 treads for this stair thickness. I found the product for the closed stairs but I will need 2 stairs with a right return. Does this product exist for this stair thickness?

A:  Thank you for your interest in Zamma Cap-A-Treads. We do not produce the Type 2 tread with a right return. You will need to purchase an additional cap-a-tread and cut the bull nose off the front, cut and miter the piece to meet with the cap-a-tread that has been installed on the stairs.           A:  Zamma Cap-A-Treads are produced with the same laminate paper as the flooring. They should withstand the same as your laminate floor.

              A:  This item will go over an existing stair tread of up to 1 and 1/8" thick. If your existing tread is over that, the type 2 cap a tread will work with a tread up to 1 and 3/4" thick, and can be special ordered at Home Depot. thanks, Christina
