A:  Hello and thank you for your interest in our product. These are laminate stair treads, and they are scratch resistant, but nothing is guaranteed to be scratch proof.

    A:  Hello karen, The Cap A Tread is held in place with a urethane construction adhesive like Liquid Nails. It's also recommended that finishing nails be driven in to the back edge before placing the riser. I've included a link to the install directions below. I hope this helps.
