Q:Is there any way to unlock trim ring? When I took out box to look at it, I think I accidentally locked trim ring in place. Now I can't pry apart to install. I'm afraid I'll break if I pry incorrectly.

A:  My experience in color-matching was hit and miss, but I eventually did get a match. It's true, online color representations are unreliable, especially when there is a range of 4-5 brown shades available. Here's what I did: I chose the shade that I felt appeared closest to my siding. When the part arrived, I found that it wasn't quite a match. So, I viewed the online options again, comparing a piece of my siding and the part I'd ordered, and I took my best guess. Home Depot is good regarding returns, and they took the initial part back while I ordered a new one. It all worked out in the end, but like I said, it was a crap-shoot; and if you're in a rush, it might not be the best way. Sorry that I couldn't give you any better alternative. I have two PCs, and the even their two monitors don't display colors the same way. Good luck in your hunt.
