Q:The Description says this is 12 IN. X 18 In The details say Rough Opening: 7 in. x 7 in. What is the real rough opening? This error seems to be repeated on some other vents, Perhaps someone did a cut and paste but did not fix the dimensions.

A:  The 7'' x 7'' rough opening is the smallest that this vent can be installed. It can also be installed into larger rough-ins.

    A:  Thank you for your interest in Builders Edge. The rough opening is as small as the opening can be to get the proper ventilation for this vent. The opening can be as big as the vent but no smaller then the recommended rough opening for the proper ventilation.

      A:  Yes, the 12 x 18 replacement vent is available in both standard white and paintable. For paintable you can use item # 100669235 and for white use item# 100669731.

        A:  The standard 12 x 18 Gable Vent in our standard white is currently unavailable online. We do offer two other shade of white. Color # 123 white or 117 bright white. The Gable Vent in 001 white can also be special ordered from your local Home Depot store.

          A:  Item 100669304 is a replacement vent. This vent can be installed in a pre-existing opening. Item 100669611 is a standard gable vent that will need to be installed prior to your siding being put up.
