Q:My inside wall opening size is 15 1/8" in diameter. Will this particular vent work for an exterior stucco wall opening?

A:  Thank you for your interest in Builders Edge. All of our gable vents come on a nailing flange and should be installed under the siding and over the hole.

        Q:I don't get the "rough opening: 5in x 6in" part. Does this somehow mean that the vent area is not an approximately 16" round circle? And "net free venting area of 26 sq. in." sounds like a tiny amount. A 16" circle would be 64 (8x8) x pi or about 200 sq. in. I'm not buying this if it is some weird decorative circle with a tiny vent space. Can someone clarify?

        A:  Thank you for your interest in Builders Edge. The rough opening is how small the hole can be to get the proper ventilation for that vent. The opening can be as big as the vent.

          Q:I have removed damaged gable vents. The house has stucco front with round cutout for vent. The attic side is square, I can see stucco backing there. Can This vent be installed in old cutout?

              Q:I cannot discern from reading the specifications wheather it's 18" circumference or diameter. It says width and height are both 18" Yet the rough opening is 5" x 6"? The square inches of net vent area seems to imply it is 18" circumference.

              A:  if the rough opening is 5" x6", then the maximum vent area is 5x6 or 30sq inches. given the vent ribs, the available area is reduced to the 26 sq inch noted. 18" is the outside max dimension.
