A:  yes, mine actually has slots where the slots are supposed to be. i dont know what ventilation you would need on the side of the house or building or that it would make any difference if it had ventilation or not on the wall. it will not make any difference in the cooling or heating on the inside of the house or make any difference on the siding, mortar, or brick on your house or building you are installing them on.
