Q:Can this door be trimmed on the top and/or bottom to fit a 79" opening? I also want to confirm whether or not this left-handed in-swing door will work as an out-swing door with the hinges on the right and knob on the left?

A: Yes. Be sure the veneer is stable. I had to glue mine back to the core in spots. Also use a straight edge to guide your skill saw for a stable cut if a table saw is not an option. Taping the cut path helps prevent chipping. Sand all edges so the veneer will not grab from contacts. I prefer a 1/8" round over edge .

Q:All of our hardware is oil rubbed bronze, so I'd like the hinges to match.

Answer This Question
A: Surprising question! Mine CAME with oil rubbed bronze hinges...that's partly why I bought them. But I see that the description now lists nickel instead. It might be worth your while to look at them at the store to see if the description is incorrect because I think these would look silly with nickel hardware.
