Answer This Question

A:  Hello Bruce, Thank you for contacting AHF Products. I’m sorry, but our stains are not available on the market. They are UV cured and applied through our manufacturing process. We recommend contacting a local professional: a paint/stain specialist can custom color match our stains. Please visit your local paint professional with an uninstalled sample of the floor and the material you would like to match.   I hope this information is helpful. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us again by e-mail at productsupport@ahfproducts.com or by phone at 1-866-243-2726, Monday through Friday from 9am to 4:30pm, EST.  Additional information may also be found at our technical website FloorExpert.com.

Q:Is underlayment required for natural red oak?
    by|Feb 11, 2024

    Answer This Question

A:  Hi Robinson! Thank you for taking the time to contact us with your question. Solid hardwood flooring can be fastened to most existing flooring materials providing they can be penetrated with the fastener and the subfloor/underlayment materials meet or exceed the recommended subfloor/underlayment requirements. Laminated rosin paper or 15# builders felt (tar paper) acts as a moisture retarder and may be used to reduce movement caused by changes in subfloor moisture, thereby reducing cupping and warping. (This is especially helpful over crawl spaces and basements.) For additional information regarding installation please visit the following link: https://bit.ly/3RfiPAL. If you have additional questions please feel free to contact our Customer Services Team at 1-866-243-2726, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. EST., if you'd like additional assistance. Information can also be found on our website Florexpert.ahfproducts.com   Have a wonderful day!

A:  Hello Maggie, Thank you for contacting AHF Products. Our products are packaged by square footage, not number of boards. There is no quantifiable number of short boards vs. long boards per carton of material.  Install from several different cartons at a time to ensure good color and length variation.

        Answer This Question

A:  Hello there, and thank you for contacting us. We appreciate your question. We don't have any 3-1/4" wide hardwood in a 9/16" thickness. This width is only available in 3/4" in a solid hardwood. However, we are interested in hearing more about the flooring you are in search of. Could you please contact us to discuss further, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 am – 4:30 pm EST by e-mail at productsupport@ahfproducts.com or by phone at 1-866-243-2726. Once again, thank you for contacting AHF Products and we look forward to hearing from you soon.

Q:Hello - I have to replace a few planks of flooring in a home I bought. I found a couple of scraps and they have "BRUCE 96" stamped on the back. Does that just define the style of flooring and NOT the color?

          Answer This Question

A:  Hi there! Thank you for taking the time to contact us with your question. The information stamped on the back of the board is specific to the plant where the floor was made, it does not help us identify the floor. However, if you know the general specifications such as thickness, width and species our product and technical team can assist in finding something comparable.  Please feel free to contact our Customer Services at 1-866-243-2726, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. EST., if you'd like additional assistance. Have a wonderful day.

Q:Is this Top Nail hardwood flooring, meaning that these floors do NOT feature Tongue & Groove milling. Is this red oak hardwood square on all four sides?
            by|Jan 8, 2024

            Answer This Question

A:  Hello Yanni! Thank you for taking the time to contact us with your question. The majority of our hardwood products including this model feature tongue and groove on all 4 sides (both long edges and both ends.) This facilitates the use of blind fastening for the majority of the installation while face nailing would only be necessary for a few of the first and last rows. Please follow link bit.ly/42HIJ1W and review additional installation details for this hardwood flooring product. Once again, thank you for contacting AHF Products. I hope this information is helpful. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us again, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 am – 4:30 pm EST by e-mail at productsupport@ahfproducts.com or by phone at 1-866-243-2726.

Q:Is this product rated for infloor radiant heat?

              Answer This Question

A:  Hello Miles! Thank you for taking the time to contact us with your question. We are very sorry for the inconvenience. However, none of our solid hardwood flooring products including this model can be installed over radiant heat due to the more radical expansion and contraction with a solid hardwood product. If you are interested in a flooring product that is more suitable for installation over radiant heat, we recommend looking into our engineered hardwood or resilient floor options as long as the finished floor surface must not exceed 85 degrees F (29 degrees C) throughout the life of the floor.  We recommend contacting the manufacture of the radiant heat system for further guidance on compatibles. Once again, thank you for contacting AHF Products. I hope this information is helpful. Answer This Question

A:  Hello, Thank you for contacting AHF Products. Color names are unique to an individual model number; therefore, Spice Tan will have a different formulation than Warm Spice.  A color could also have a different appearance if it appears on white oak versus red oak.  Red oak has more red undertones and white oak has more yellow/brown undertones. Floor model SHD3214 is sold exclusively through Home Depot and they should be able to order a sample for you.   I hope this information is helpful.
