A:  The charcoal does not have holes and as long as you turn your coals and add more as needed, then you will be fine with reaching the desired temperature. Thank You Brinkmann

A:  You do not need to add any holes to this that aren't already present in the design of the smoker.

A:  I did, the charcoal after a couple hours was smothering itself. Not a big deal to do, find an old pan to put under the holder to catch the burn off. Burned much better and more efficiently after the holes.

A:  These are a number of temperature gauges that are far more accurate than the one supplied with this smoker. Some may fit the existing hole while others will require modification to use. I would suggest a bit of personal research before making your final decision. Some factors into this decision may be based on cost & intended use. The cost of a high-end thermometer can exceed the cost of the smoker itself and that is a decision that only you can make.

A:  The dome lid is not designed to fit snugly in the smoker body. The gap between the dome lid and smoker body allows proper air draft and circulation. Thank You Brinkmann
