Answer This Question

A:  I've yet been able to reattach mine so I just bought the 5 star gas can that cost about $7 more. It's worth it. Look under Gas cans.

A:  No. I am not sure why you would want to even use parts not approved for use with gasoline. I would highly recommend buying safety cans for transporting and gasoline storage before one of these. I have switched from these cans that spill fuel all over due to poor design of the spout and I have not only kept gas off my hands, but it's better for the earth not to spill fuel all over the ground and you do not need to remove the spout to fill a safety can at the gas station as it has a fill hole with filter screen and tight spring sealed lid. I would look into the safety can option and see if that may be a better option for yourself. Lots of commercial outfits use them for a reason.

          Answer This Question

A:  It was built broken. A little googling will reveal some replacement nozzles. If you only use the gas can for "water", you can find one without the advanced safety features.

A:  I suggest you file a serious complaint with the Home Depot management. This product simply does NOT work. The more people who complain, the sooner Home Depot will stop selling this product. Saying "safety regulations require this spout design" is unacceptable. The manufacturer will design a better solution, but only if retailers like Home Depot refuse to sell this product. Good Luck!

A:  I'd still take it back to the store where purchased. I'd ensure I empty all the gas out into another container and rinsed it out with a garden hose real well. Then I'd tell the store manager they are selling a safety hazard and purchase the 5 Star rated gas can that costs about $7 more. Best of lock. be assertive.

A:  Although the Briggs & Stratton name is on the cans, The Plastics Group actually manufacturers these cans and uses our name for branding purposes. Please try and contact The Plastics Group to resolve your parts concerns: 888-449-3326
