Q:will a 27" x27" grate fit a 30" round fire pit?

Answer This Question
A: Based purely on math and the stated dimensions, I haven't had a chance to purchase or measure, 30" would be too small.
Assuming that your 30" is an interior diameter...
A 27" diameter "true" hexagon would be okay, but the specifications say it's 27" x 27", which means it's stretched slightly and this does appear to be the case in the pictures as well. Based on that, the grate would have a maximum diameter of just over 30" (~ 30 3/16"). Meaning that you MIGHT be able to squeeze it in, if you have slightly more than 30" actually. But if you are even slightly less than 31" really, I wouldn't purchase the 27" grate. I would instead go with a smaller (say 24") grate.
