A: The best time to apply manure is usually early spring and/or early fall. If you are in a southern climate you could go to late winter or late fall. Apply it early in the morning or in the evening.

A: I use it to start my seeds for my veg garden and enrich the soil.

A: Bermuda is best seeded in Spring. When I reseed, I put down Black Cow and a good garden soil. I also add some in late Fall.

A: You might want to buy one bag and look at the medium. It is very dense, like seriously dense mud chunks. Could you add it to your lawn, yes...but it would take many bags. You would also need it dry out to be able to spread. It isn't something that you can sprinkle. I use it to mix with soil in a bed, for flowers and vegetables. Google coffee grinds and lawns. I add that and it has a low nitrogen. Go ask a local cafe or Starbucks for their old grinds. I add 100 lbs + every year. (Fertilizers too)

Hello Jim.
I just rec'd a return call from Cathy at Black Kow and she said there was one cubic foot of material per 50# bag. They are designing a new bag and it will state the cubic foot data on the outside of the bag henceforth.

A: Composted cow manure is definitely organic however, I don’t know that this brand is specifically OMRI listed. I wasn’t even sure what that meant until I looked it up. I have used composted cow manure to amend my soil for going on 20 years. I also use it when I plant anything new. My soil is black, crumbly and gorgeous!

A: A quick search indicated ORMI is a Canadian thing and may not apply in the U.S.???
