Answer This Question

A:  Hi Benton, thank you for your question. No, this will not work, as the 47" unit can accommodate a maximum opening with of 47". An alternative would be to place a custom-size order directly through your local Basco dealer, or switch to a different model, such as our Rotolo (https://www.homedepot.com/p/Basco-Rotolo-48-in-x-70-in-Semi-Frameless-Sliding-Shower-Door-in-Chrome-with-Handle-RTLA05B4870XPSV/306185300). You can visit your local Home Depot and speak with a trained associate to place your custom order, or you can go to any other Basco dealer in your order for your custom shower door. Q:How much allowance is there if the wall is not plumb?

      Answer This Question

A:  Hi Lois, thank you for reaching out with your question. This door can fit openings from 56-59" wide. As per our specs, the door can adjust for up to 3/8" on either side of the wall. If the out-of-plumb condition is over 3/8", it will require a filler. The best alternative to fillers is to look into getting a custom size enclosure for a precision-fit. You can visit a local Basco dealer (www.bascoshowerdoor.com/where-to-buy) to place a custom order, or contact our Tech Specialists at 1-800-45-BASCO for assistance with additional out-of-plumb questions.

Q:My shower is 71" high, which means I should probably select the 68" high door. But if I go with 68", I will have to duck to get in the shower. I know the height can't be cut down. But would it work to install a 71.5" door in a 71" fiberglass enclosure?

        Answer This Question

A:  Hi Joe, thanks for reaching out. Yes, you can still install this door, despite the half inch height difference. It may not be as pleasing aesthetically to have the enclosure pass the fiberglass insert a the top, but it does not reduce the functionality of the enclosure.

A:  Hi Kevin, thank you for reaching out. I apologize for this confusing information, I will work with our eCommerce team to get this updated. That said, I'm happy to say that this enclosure will work for your 56" opening. The correct opening width range is 56"-59". The only difference is that your walk-through opening may be a bit slimmer and the panel overlap will be larger. However, a larger overlap also meals less chances for water leakage, which is a good thing! Thank you for considering a Basco shower enclosure.

Q:We have the Basco framed shower door with the rain finish on the door. Do the doors have the rough finish on the outside or inside. One door has the rough side on the outside and the other on the inside. Installed wrong?

            Answer This Question

A:  Hi there, thank you for reaching out. Yes, it sounds like there was an error with the installation. The textured side of the glass always faces out of the shower. The smooth side of the glass should be on the inside. Please speak with your installer to ensure they correct the wrong panel. If you have questions regarding the installation process or need technical assistance, you can always contact our Basco Care team at 1-800-45-BASCO or via inquiry@bascoshowerdoor.com.
