Q:Does this cut ceramic tile using a wet saw. Don’t want to break the tile
by|Dec 30, 2020

Answer This Question

A:  Dear Valued Home Depot Customer, We have reached out to the manufacturer and their answer is, The hole saw will not work in a wet saw. It must be used with a hole saw arbor and drill. Best to use a ½’ drill and 7/16” arbor.

A:  You will need a 3/8" arbor w/ pilot bit. The Blu-Mol # 5514, E0102457 is a hex shank mandrel which includes a 3-1/4" x 1/4" pilot bit. Packed 1/box. This mandrel can be used with holes saws ranging from 9/16" to 1-3/16".

        Q:Will this cut through glass?
        by|Jun 26, 2020
        1 Answer
        Answer This Question

A:  Although the Carbide teeth are hard enough to cut through glass the 6" Blu-Mol Xtreme Carbide Tipped Hole Saw was not designed for that purpose. The tooth shape, angle of attack and spacing, would be too aggressive and the resulting chatter would likely crack the glass.

            Answer This Question

A:  Dear Valued Home Depot Customer, We have reached out to the manufacturer and their reply is, You will be better off using a RemGrit Carbide-Grit Hole Saw. The individual teeth on a carbide tooth hole saw would chip and break off. We were unable to find a 3-1/2” diameter on the HD website. However, there are 3-3/8” and 3-3/4” diameter saws.
