While there's no designated time to wait before sleeping in a freshly painted room, I recommend waiting until the paint is at least dry to the touch (about 1 hour).               A:  Hi there, thanks for the question. Since our Ultra Interior Paint has a built-in stain-blocking primer, a separate primer isn't needed. The first coat of paint will act as the primer coat. 2-3 coats of paint may be needed to cover over the existing dark blue. Have a great day! -Ronald
