A:  Scuffing the walls, or using TSP is the minimum thing you can do short of using primer to prepare the wall. The liquid TSP will do what the sandpaper will do, and at a faster rate. Failure to prepare the wall, especially over a glossy surface, can cause the coating to fail within a short amount of time. Joseph
