    Answer This Question

A:  Hi James, I just bought this “Cinema Screen” paint a week ago, and I thought it was supposed to be some type of gray. It turned out dark purple/gray, and the semi-gloss finish was terrible (as I should have expected) for use as a projector screen/wall.

Q:1) what should I use as a top coat? I Can’t figure out if this is paint it oil based or water base. 2) if I don’t remove and old finished and only sand with 120 grit will this 2 in 1 paint / primer still block stains ?

        Answer This Question

A:  Hi Liz, thank you for your questions. Our Premium Plus Paint is a water-based product. It includes paint and primer, so a separate topcoat will not be needed as the paint will dry to a protective, hard finish. As it turns out, our Premium Plus Paint is not a stain-blocking coating. To cover any stains and ensure they don't bleed through to your topcoat, I recommend priming the areas with our Multi-Surface Primer (No. 436). Have a great day! -Lina

A:  Hi Carol, thanks for the question. On the surfaces that are laminated, I'd recommend priming them first with our Bonding Primer. It's designed to adhere to smooth surfaces such as laminate. Have a great day! -Ronald
