      Answer This Question

A:  Hi Kathi - thanks for your question. Yes, all coated surface can become slippery when wet. As it turns out, we do not have any products that can be added to our semi-transparent stains to provide slip-resistance; if you need something with slip-resistance, it's best to use our Anti-Slip Porch & Patio Floor Paint instead. Have a great day! -Christina

A:  Hi Sher - Thanks for your question. It's best to let your wood dry for 24-48 hours before staining to ensure moisture from the wood does not get trapped underneath the coating. Have a great day! -Christina

Q:How difficult is it to maintain the semi transparent stain/sealer? If it’s been around 6 to 8 years and I want to add another coat, do I need to strip the previous coat with the #64 stripper? Or is it good enough to just use the #63 cleaner?

Q:If I use this stain, and want a sealer to penetrate, am I able to use a penetrating sealant on top of this particular stain?

              Answer This Question

A:  Hi Alex, thank you for your question. The Semi-Transparent Wood Stain and Sealer can be top coated with a clear water-based coating, such as polyurethane. Typically, penetrating coatings/sealers require they be applied to uncoated porous surfaces. I recommend reaching out to the manufacturer of the penetrating sealant to ensure its compatibility on top of water-based stains. Have a great day! - Randy

Q:I have a 2 part question. Currently I have redwood color stain/sealer on deck & I want to change it to a different color, can I just apply to the top of my fading redwood color or not? 2nd question: what color will come as close to a dark oak color?

                Answer This Question

A:  Hi Mike, thanks for the question. You can apply our Solid-Color Waterproofing Stain & Sealer over the existing redwood stain. I'd recommend cleaning the surface first with our All-In-One Wood Cleaner before applying the stain. Our closest color to a dark Oak would probably be Cordovan Brown. I'd also suggest checking out the colors Coffee and Padre Brown. Have a great day! -Ronald
